Up for sale: one Altec Lansing model 603 Multi-Cell Diacone speaker. This model started production in 1947. Based on serial # I am assuming {as I've done no research into the assigning of these} that this one maybe from the early half of the 1950's. Approx. 15 3/16" wide and 6 5/8" - 3/4" tall and 15 1/2 lbs. I measured it at between 7.1 and 7.2 ohns. There appears to be three small prior repairs that look very well done around the rim {see pictures}, otherwise it appears to be the real McCoy to me!! When I teamed it up {still in vintage style floor standing cabinet} with my Sherwood S-2000 AM-FM {mono} tuner and EICO HF-20 {mono} amplifier hooked to the 8 ohm speaker terminal, the FM sounded EXCELLENT!!. The speaker played and sounded great. I am sure there is an audiophile out there that's just a bit more "PHILIER" than I am and would have a deeper appreciation for this GEM!! NOTE: this sale for speaker only.
