These were sent to media outlets for promotional purposes, to be used by writers doing reviews or features about the films, and were not sold at retail stores. The discs include still images from the movie on a CD-ROM, which is not a DVD. Press kits do NOT include the movie itself.

This is the Press Kit for the 2003 Academy Award winning movie "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" directed by Peter Jackson and starring Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, Liv Tyler, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett.  It includes a 12"x 9" glossy folder.  Inside the folder are the production notes (more than 42 pages!), CD-ROM, an invite to a 2003 all-media screening in Los Angeles and a press kit for a contest for children to write an essay contest. The CD-ROM has never been opened so I have no idea how many images and other information is on the disc.
There are no marks or bends. This is an extremely nice press kit that has been carefully preserved over the past two decades.
The only "flaws" are some impressions on the press kit folder, but nothing horrible.
