Offered for your consideration is one (1) vintageRealistic
part # SD-60
1 inch dome tweeter
removed from my Minimus 7 speaker, Cat. No. 40-2045, made in Japan c.1982. This plastic faceplate Minimus 7 tweeter should be a correct retrofit for most, if not all, Minimus 7’s, but the buyer is responsible for verifying its compatibility with their speaker.
So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this capable high frequency driver should become yours.
This Minimus 7 tweeter is in clean, excellent condition. The soft, coated textile dome is dimple-free flawless. Plus, the faceplate looks great with just a tiny scratch next to a mount hole. Also, the large ceramic magnet has no oxidation. And, the +/- terminals are color-keyed for polarity and have never been soldered on the spades. It’s close to being in perfect shape!
Most importantly, it’s been fully tested and sounds outstanding—excellent upper midrange coverage and sparkling highs with its 18kHz rating. And, it supports 40W continuous input in the Min 7, so it’s a sturdy design. Plus, I tested its DC resistance at 7.9Ω, consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the faceplate measures 4” x 2½”, it stands 1⅛” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced just under 3⅜” long way, 1⅞” short way, c-t-c.
This is a great find if you have a blown tweeter in your suitable early Minimus 7 and will have your speaker sounding its best again in no time!
As pictured and described, this superb Japanese-made
Realistic
1” dome tweeter is offered at a competitive price.
