    Offered for your consideration is a vintage pair of
    ROLA
    6½ inch woofers
    , USA-made in 1971. As you may know, ROLA was a leading supplier to the domestic speaker industry from the late 1950’s to 1980’s. Per the EIA source/date code on the magnet covers, "285 149", these woofers were made by ROLA (285) in the 49th week of 1971.
    Please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if these terrific mid/bass drivers should become yours.
    These woofers are in clean, excellent condition. The sturdy paper cones and textile voice coil dustcaps are flawless. Plus, the surrounds are
    permanent
    rubber instead of the fragile foam that was coming into widespread use around that time. And, the galvanized steel baskets have no dings, scratches, or oxidation. Lastly, the +/- terminals measure the standard .205”, are marked for polarity, and have never been soldered on the spades.  Overall, these woofers are in remarkable shape!
    Most importantly, they’ve been fully tested and sound great—fast, detailed midrange and solid bass response for the platform size. Plus, I tested their DC resistance at a
    perfectly
    -matched 7.9Ω each consistent with a nominal 8 ohm driver rating. Lastly, the baskets measure 6⅝” diameter, they stand just over 2¾” tall, and the mounting holes are spaced 4⅜” adjacent / 6⅛” diagonal apart, c-t-c.
    As pictured and described, this exceptional pair of vintage ROLA 6½” woofers is offered at a competitive price.
